How Metrikasa calculates

The tools turn your measurements into approximate quantities using visible formulas. Review the example and adjust each assumption.

Measurement, allowance and purchase

We first calculate area, length or volume. Where relevant, we then apply your chosen allowance. Finally we round up to whole tins, boxes or bags.

For curtains we round fabric widths per panel and, when there is a vertical pattern repeat, cutting length. These are separate operations: an extra allowance does not replace a seam or hem allowance.

What you need to check

Enter coverage or capacity for the actual product. Example values demonstrate the calculation; they are not universal recommendations or claims about a particular brand.

The tools do not inspect your home, material or installation. Irregular shapes, special conditions and manufacturer requirements may need additional checks.

Results you can review

Cost calculations use your entered price and do not retrieve offers. Displayed figures may be rounded for readability; purchasing quantities use the calculated values.

You can save a calculation in this browser, share a link containing its values or print it. Check the measurements and link contents before using these options.
